Good Day parents, camper and coaches,

You have signed your athlete up for Week 1 of Spring Break camp with Yukon Freestyle. Thank you and I hope your athlete is excited to start shredding. The two main coaches are Lyndsey, Chris and Luke (on Monday) with two of our developmental athletes assisting the coaches, Dash and Jacob. Camp starts at 10 am and runs until 4 pm. You can drop your athlete off at 930 am, but not earlier. Please make sure your athlete arrives at least 15 minutes prior to 10AM so they are ready to be on the snow by 10AM. If your athlete will be late or will not be at camp, please make sure to text your athletes coach to let them know. Should your athlete arrive late, please have them wait at the bottom of the hill for their coach. The camp finishes at 4 PM, but often the athletes are still making their way down the slopes, but please make sure you or whoever is picking up your athlete are there on time, as the coaches are not expected to stay after 4 PM. Freestyle ski camp runs from Monday, Mar 13th to Thursday, Mar 16th. Yukon Freestyle has a lunch room at Mt. Sima for our athletes to use during the camp days. The athletes are able to put their bags in the trailer, eat and warm up in the trailer. There is a microwave as well, so the athletes can heat up their lunches. There is no running water and no bathroom in the trailer, so athletes will need to use the lodge for this. Athletes are encouraged to bring lunch to camp, as the lunch line is normally busy and coaches will not be waiting for athletes that are buying lunches. Mt Sima has also asked that our athletes not use the lodge to eat in, as there is a limited capacity within the lodge on spring break. Please remind your athlete to clean up after themselves when in the lunchroom. The Freestyle lunchroom located next to the staff lodge at Mt. Sima. You can’t miss it, it’s an ATCO trailer that looks like it's in the parking lot. When dropping your athlete off, please park at the back of the trailer, and not by the entrance, as this is sima staff parking and you may be towed. What to bring to freestyle ski camp:

  • Ski’s (twin tip)

  • Poles

  • Helmet

  • Ski Boots

  • Warm outside gear

  • Extra Mittens

  • Hand and feet warmers

  • Lunch, snacks and water

  • Lift pass

Good Evening Fundamentals parents, athletes and coaches,

I hope everyone is excited for the fundamentals assessment day tomorrow (Jan 8). We will have all the fundamentals athletes at the hill from 11 to 1 PM tomorrow (Jan 8) and skiing with the coaches as one big group. The coaches will assess each athlete on their skiing abilities, techniques, jumping skills, rail skills, etc. The athletes will then be put into different groups based on their skill level.

Fundamentals 8 week program will start January 15th at 11am and run until 4pm. The program ends March 5th, providing the hill does not close due to cold weather.

You can drop your athlete off at 1030 am, but not earlier. Please make sure your athlete arrives at least 15 minutes prior to 11AM so they are ready to be on the snow by 11AM. If your athlete will be late or will not be at training, please make sure to text your athletes coach to let them know. Should your athlete arrive late, please have them wait at the bottom of the hill for their coach and text the coach to let them know your athlete will be late. The training day finishes at 4 PM, often the athletes are still making their way down the slopes, but please make sure you or whomever is picking up your athlete are there on time, as the coaches are not expected to stay after 4 PM.
