22/23 Season End.......

Hello YFSA Members

The season is nearing the end for 2022/23 and the snow is disappearing fast now. The athletes have grown so much in their skills as well as physically. Its hard to believe summer is just around the corner.

April 1 & 2 is the last on-snow weekend of training for the Jr. & Sr. Freestylers. Their coach for the weekend will be Steven Harlow again. He is an amazing coach and we are happy to have him back for the last weekend training.

On-Snow Training Schedule:

  • Sr. Freestylers - Saturday, April 1, 2023 10am to 4pm

  • Jr. Freestylers - Sunday, April 2, 2023 10am to 4 pm

Report cards for the athletes will be emailed out in the next 10 days. The report cards will explain what skills your athlete started to work on, but still needs to work on (learning....); what skills your athlete is doing, but needs to clean up or become more comfortable with (You did it!); and what skills your athlete is doing well and is ready to move to the next level of trick (Stomped it!). The report card will touch on skiing skills, jumping skills and terrain park skills. At the bottom of each section is where you will find the coaches comments. At the end of the report card there will be a recommendation for what program to register your athlete in next season.

Should you have any questions about your athlete and their season, please contact your coach via email or myself and I can connect you with your athletes coach.

Please, check back in on the YFSA's website in mid-May, as we will be posting our programs for next season and potential summer trampoline, airbag and dryland programs. We are hoping to open up the summer programs to the younger athletes this year (Jr. & Sr. Freestylers).

Parents, please check the 'Lost and Found' box in the Freestyle trailer this weekend for any of your athletes items. Parents and Athletes, please make sure you bring all of your skis, poles, boots and any items home with you after training this weekend, as athletes will not have acess to the trailer after training ends.

Trampoline will continue until the end of April for the Jr. & Sr. Freestylers. Trampoline and Dryland will also contiune for the Dev team until the end of April.

Thank you to all of the parents who came out last weekend and helped with Yukon Champs!!!! It was a great time and even more amazing to see how skilled our YFSA athletes are.

Great Job Athletes!!!!!!!

A big 'THANK YOU' to Mark Kelly who was out at Mt sima all weekend shooting the event. Here is a link to the photos that Mark Kelly took during the Champs. The YFSA is going to use it as fundraiser, so click on the link below and purchase your athletes photos!!!!!!!
